OT Product Review: Peekaboo Beans and a Contest

Happy Mother's Day lovely readers! Last month I was introduced to this brand of kids clothes called Peekaboo Beans  by a lovely reader named Michelle, a stylist for the company. She asked me if I was interested in having my kids try out some of the clothing and I very happily agreed after checking out the website and researching the company. Obviously this is a sponsored post in that I got free clothing to try out, but I was really pleased to find out its a local company outside of Vancouver, and the clothing is exactly the style of clothes I look for for my girls.

Something I really appreciate in kids clothing is basic designs without graphics/cartoons/disney-nickelodeon clutter (although I don't restrict the occasional Dora tee). Another thing I look for are soft easy and unrestrictive natural fabrics. You will never, ever see my kids wearing chiffon, taffeta  or polyestery dresses for any reason, ever. I endured such dresses in my childhood and I loathed them because I couldn't play in them and they made me sweat something fierce. My kids love dresses, but I try to find them cottony cozy styles that they can run and jump around in freely and act like actual kids. Michelle sent me these two adorable dresses and I was so pleased that they are totally age appropriate, and they are made out of this soft cotton which is very similar to Lululemons stretch cotton french terry from some of their most recent sweat pants.  My oldest got the peach/floral Boardwalk Dress and my youngest got the purple Beach Day Dress. These dresses have been worn constantly since we received them and they get washed and worn every few days. I love that they are girly, without being too girly. The style of the dresses are so cute and simple. Michelle also very generously sent us two pairs of leggings, a lovely hoodie and a gorgeous scarf for me. Each time they've worn their outfits we receive tons of compliments from family and other parents at school, and questions about what brand it is since it's so obvious these are not your conventional Gap, Children's Place or Gymboree styles. Another great thing is that the fabric is so durable that they aren't too precious to play at the park in. My kids get them pretty dirty playing in the garden and then at preschool with paints and play dough. Throwing them in the wash though they have come out great every time. No color bleeding, fading or shrinking and stains come out easily. Most important though is that there are no special washing instructions. I've tossed them in with the regular laundry and then tossed them into the dryer.

If you're interested in ordering some clothes (they have clothing for both boys, girls, babies and pre teens) or learning more about the company, check out Michelle Miller's website (Peekaboo Beans Michelle Miller) and her facebook page. Michelle has offered a $25 dollar gift certificate for one lucky reader. All you have to do to win the $25 gift certificate is to leave me a comment telling me how you are spending your mothers day, and what item you plan on purchasing. I'll draw a winner one week from today on Sunday, May 19th.
